# Explore a codebase

> Ask Replit to explain an unfamiliar repository, trace a feature through its components, and identify where a focused change belongs without editing the code.

Whether you are new to a repository or exploring a new one, ask Replit to explain it to you. Understand its components without waiting for a teammate to walk you through the code. No edits or running preview required.

## Explore your repository

**1. Understand the project**

Ask Replit to explain the repository. Replace the URL to use your own.

Explain [https://github.com/replit/cloud-agent-demo](https://github.com/replit/cloud-agent-demo).
What does it do, and how are its main components organized?
Use plain language, link to relevant files, and do not edit anything.

**2. Ask follow-up questions**

Explore any part you want to understand better. For example:

How does this page adapt to mobile screens?
Explain the layout styles and show me where they are defined.

You can also ask about components, dependencies, or potential changes. Check the file references; your team may still need to explain business decisions that aren't documented in the code.
